“I contacted Castle Health seeking guidance and options to support a relative who was having a difficult time both with addiction and other mental health concerns. The team were incredibly kind and informed, they took the time to go through all the options with me and helped us plan how to approach the matter. Fortunately the person has now been receiving care from CATCH for several months and is doing really well. A big thank you to the wonderful team! I would highly recommend this service.”

Meet José Pereira
José is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist at our Castle Health London clinic in Belgravia, the nearest Castle Health rehab clinic to Ealing. As an experienced addiction therapist near Ealing, he holds an MSc in Counselling alongside several specialist qualifications in Addiction Counselling. He has worked in addiction and associated disorders since 2003, treating compulsive behaviours, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders across one-to-one therapy and group work.
José has spent most of his career inside leading residential treatment settings, progressing from Counsellor through Senior Counsellor, Head Therapist, and Clinical Manager. In those roles, he has led multidisciplinary clinical teams and worked with people over long periods, which means he understands what sustainable recovery actually looks like and how it gets built. He brings that long-view perspective into every session, whether in person or online.
As an integrative therapist, José draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention, Psychodynamic Therapy, Systemic approaches, and Gestalt Therapy. In practice, that means he works with the whole of you, and adapts his approach to what fits, rather than applying one method to every situation. He also has particular interest and experience in supporting people with compulsive sexual behaviours alongside addiction work. Alongside individual therapy, he runs group facilitation, psychoeducational workshops, clinical supervision, and training, and is fluent in English, Portuguese, French, and Spanish.
