Matthew is a qualified and accredited addiction counsellor/integrative psychotherapist with over 9 years of experience working with adults with substance use disorders and behavioural addictions, psychological disorders and underlying psychotherapeutic work.
He prides himself on having up-to-date knowledge of the drug and alcohol field and is able to integrate various therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Relapse prevention, to ensure that treatment is tailored to each client’s specific needs.
Matthew’s psychotherapy training allows him to work with a wider range of issues, ranging from trauma, developmental issues, attachment issues and existential matters.
Matthew’s therapy style is flexible, with an emphasis on the relational elements which are evidenced to improve therapeutic outcomes. He tends to focus not only on the causation of the presenting problems but work towards finding appropriate solutions to both short and long-term issues.
