Addictions we treat

Our treatment programme is designed to meet your specific needs. We offer a variety of therapy options with varying length and intensity that can be customised around your personal and professional schedules.

"After many years of heavy drinking, I'd had enough of being stuck in that cycle. My addiction was pretty severe, so I completed a residential programme at Castle Craig and gained so much clarity through that programme. I continued therapy afterwards with Castle Health in Glasgow, which helped me rebuild my relationship with my family. Today I'm three years sober and the happiest and healthiest I've been."

YOUR THERAPIST IN GLASGOW

Meet Shirley Meade

Shirley is a fully accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an experienced integrative psychotherapist and addiction therapist in Glasgow. Her interest in addiction therapy began ten years ago as a student therapist, and she has since worked with adults, young people, couples, and families across a range of organisations supporting people at different stages of recovery.

Shirley brings a trauma-informed, relational approach to her work, with significant expertise in attachment and trauma. She understands that addiction often speaks through pain and unmet needs rather than as a straightforward choice, and this shapes how she works. She has particular experience supporting people with Autism and ADHD alongside addiction, and offers couples therapy for those whose relationships have been affected.

She draws on a range of therapeutic models depending on what fits the person she is working with, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Her focus is on helping people navigate life after rehabilitation and build recovery that is genuinely sustainable, working with whatever each person brings.
