Sonya Singleton
“I have over 10 years of experience in psychotherapy in private practice and mental illness. My background is in integrative psychotherapy, with education focused on addiction, prison services, couples and group work.
Sonya is from Cork, Ireland and has an honours degree (BSc) in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
She also has a diploma in Drugs/Alcohol Counselling Theory and Intervention Skills, and has worked as an Aftercare Facilitator for an addiction centre in Cork for several years. Sonya currently runs her own private practice and also works with a prison aftercare organisation, helping clients to integrate into society after a prison sentence.
Sonya facilitates a group therapy process group that runs fortnightly for the year for 3 hours, helping clients to process their issues and behaviours in a group setting. She also works with an organisation in Cork that helps people detox and who are trying to get into treatment for addiction.
She has training in Couples Therapy, guiding couples through some of their relational issues.
Sonya Singleton specialises in the following
Couples therapy
A form of psychotherapy designed to help romantic partners resolve conflicts, improve communication, and rebuild emotional intimacy following addiction.
Group therapy
Highly effective for treating conditions like anxiety, depression, and trauma. It offers unique benefits, including reduced feelings of isolation, shared coping strategies, and significantly shorter waiting times than one-on-one sessions.
Integrative psychotherapy
Is a holistic, tailored therapeutic approach that blends techniques from different psychological schools – such as humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioural (CBT) – to suit your unique needs.
