Emelie Söderström

In 2020 I began working at a private treatment center, an experience that gave me a new perspective on people and their lives. I came to understand how upbringing and life experiences shape individuals and lead them to the point where I meet them today, often in a place where alcohol and drugs have been used as a form of self-medication, with consequences that have gradually become more severe.

My background is diverse, with experience across hospitality, administration, customer service, warehousing, and retail. Earlier in my career, I explored different paths, but it wasn’t until I entered the field of treatment that I found a true sense of purpose and the feeling that I could genuinely make a difference.

While working at the treatment center, I trained as an addiction therapist. Today, I work both as a therapist and a coordinator, where I bring together my professional skills and life experience in a meaningful way.

What I value most about my work is the privilege of supporting individuals on their journey toward a better life. Being part of that process is deeply rewarding, not only for the people I meet, but also for me.
