Andrew Anderson

Therapist, Castle Health

Andrew is an experienced psychotherapist with extensive clinical experience across NHS, specialist and private settings. His practice draws on psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychosexual therapy and Interpersonal Therapy, alongside extensive experience in addiction and forensic mental health.

Andrew works with adults experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including trauma and complex and longstanding difficulties. His experience includes working with people with more complex clinical needs, including within forensic and specialist settings.

Andrew has particular interests in relationships, intimacy, sexuality and identity, including gender identity and transgender experiences. He is interested in how early experiences and relationships can influence the way we understand ourselves and relate to others.

Andrew’s approach is thoughtful, collaborative and non-judgemental. He aims to provide a space in which people can explore difficulties at their own pace and develop greater insight into patterns affecting their emotional wellbeing, relationships and sense of self.

He works with anxiety, depression, addiction, psychosexual concerns, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, identity concerns, emotional and interpersonal difficulties, trauma, loss and significant life transitions.

Depending on an individual’s needs, Andrew offers both shorter-term interventions and longer-term psychotherapy. He also offers initial consultations to consider whether therapy may be helpful and what form of support would be most appropriate. Sessions are available in person and online.
