Alex Hayes

Alex is a BACP registered therapist with several years of experience in the field of addiction therapy, who began the path into helping people with his own entry into recovery from substance and gambling addiction.

Working from a person-centred and existential standpoint, Alex believes in helping people to understand themselves and the parts of self involved in their addiction, while working to build stability and structure back into lives ravaged by addiction and its consequences.

Alex has experience working with a variety of different addictive and problematic behaviours, including substance and alcohol misuse, gambling addiction, and eating disorders. He has also worked with clients seeking help with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and a wide variety of neurodiversity.

Integrating humanistic and existential approaches, Alex draws on a range of therapeutic methods including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy in order to help his clients in a way that he himself was helped by others.
