Online rehab in Malta

Castle Health offers online addiction treatment in Malta, so you can access support without attending sessions in person. Sessions are delivered via secure video call by an experienced Castle Health therapist.

Together, you will work on managing cravings, recognising warning signs, and planning for high-risk situations. Your therapist will also put together a relapse prevention plan personalised to you.

Private online rehab in Malta can be helpful if your health or location makes travelling to regular meetings difficult. Many people continue to use virtual rehab programmes after leaving other forms of rehab treatment. Relatives can also join a family support programme online, helping them understand more about their loved one’s recovery and how to support them.

What your treatment may include

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): helps you identify and change thinking patterns that contribute to addictive behaviour.
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): builds practical skills for managing difficult emotions and reducing harmful behaviours.
  • Motivational Interviewing: a collaborative approach that helps you explore your own reasons for change and build confidence in recovery.
  • Trauma-informed therapy: addresses the underlying experiences that may be driving addictive behaviour in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Family therapy: helps those closest to you understand addiction and develop healthier ways of communicating and offering support.
  • Psychiatric review: regular assessment by a psychiatrist to monitor your mental health and adjust your treatment plan where needed.
  • Relapse prevention planning: identifies your personal triggers and builds practical strategies to help you maintain recovery.
  • 12 Step: draws on the principles of peer support and personal accountability to support long-term recovery.

Outpatient rehab in Malta

Castle Health does not currently have a walk-in clinic in Malta. However, we do have outpatient clinic locations across Europe where you can meet a therapist face-to-face.

Online therapy is a clinically recognised approach to addiction treatment and may be suitable, depending on your circumstances.

If your needs change or a higher level of support becomes necessary, our clinical team will talk you through your residential treatment options.

Inpatient rehab options for people living in Malta

Online treatment can work well for many people, but it isn’t the right fit for everyone. If you need medically supervised detox or a more intensive level of support, residential treatment for addiction may be appropriate.

We can arrange admission to Castle Craig Hospital in Scotland or Smarmore Castle in Ireland. Both centres offer medically managed detox, daily therapy, psychiatric review, and 24-hour support. Our team can help arrange travel and guide you through a short phone assessment to get started.

If you have international health insurance, your policy may cover part or all of residential treatment costs. Once your stay is complete, your clinical team will put together an aftercare plan to support your recovery at home.

*Please note that residential treatment for mental health is only available as part of addiction treatment at one of our specialist addiction centres. If a residential mental health programme is more suitable for you, our team will refer you to an accredited provider.

Expert care from an accredited clinical team

Our online therapists, psychiatrists, and recovery coaches bring decades of combined experience in addiction treatment. They hold accreditations with BACP, COSCA, and the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counsellors (NAADAC).

More than their qualifications, they understand what it takes to ask for help. Everyone who comes to Castle Health is treated as an individual, and your care will reflect that from the very first conversation.

We take a holistic approach. That means we treat the whole person. We look at the psychological, social, and medical aspects of addiction, together with your personal history, to build a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs.

We have developed a full range of care, from initial assessment and online therapy through to residential treatment, aftercare, and long-term alumni support.

Our admissions team can talk you through the costs involved and whether your health insurance may cover part or all of your treatment.

FAQ

How Long Does Rehab Last?

Typical addiction treatment plans last from 30, 45, 60, or 90 days depending on the type of dependency. Depending on the type of programme you choose, you may spend more or less time in rehab.

During the inpatient programme, you stay in the recovery centre for the duration of your treatment, while outpatient programmes allow you to come to the centre only when you are scheduled for therapy and treatment. Inpatient programmes keep patients away from addictive habits allowing healing to take place in a substance-free environment.

Outpatient programmes are more suited for patients who need to take care of their career and home life.

What Is an Average Day Like in a Rehab Centre?

At our rehab centre, detox is the first step in your recovery process. This could last from one day to two weeks. After you have completed the detox process, you will be able to relax and recover by engaging in creative activities provided by our clinic. Depending on your treatment plan option, you may have a specific routine such as breakfast first, then mindfulness sessions, group or individual therapy, and outdoor activities. All Castle Health programmes will be fitted to the recovery needs of the patient while providing the necessary structure and stability for lasting change.
