Addiction treatment and mental health services for people in Belgium

Castle Health provides outpatient rehab and mental health treatment online to people living in Belgium. We support people with alcohol, drug, and behavioural addictions, as well as related mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression.

Treatment is available:

  • Online as outpatient therapy
  • Residential care at one of our private inpatient centres

Our clinical team will help you understand which level of support is right for you.

You don’t need a GP referral to get started. Call our admissions team, and we’ll guide you through your options.

Online rehab and mental health treatment in Belgium

If you live in Belgium, you can access specialist addiction treatment and mental health services as an outpatient with Castle Health. You can begin treatment from home without needing to travel.

Secure video sessions are delivered by our trusted therapists, psychiatrists, and recovery coaches within the Castle Health network.

Our online therapy in Belgium is delivered in English, and can be suitable if you’re exploring help for alcohol, drugs, gambling, or other behavioural addictions. Please view the full list of addictions we treat to find out how we can support you.

We offer:

  • Initial assessment
  • Online therapy – individual and group therapy
  • Recovery coaching
  • Family support programme
  • Aftercare/ relapse prevention planning
  • Interventions

If your needs change or a higher level of support becomes appropriate, our clinical team will talk you through the next steps. For some people, that means a stay at one of our residential centres.

Is outpatient rehab available in person for people living in Belgium?

Outpatient treatment is available in person at Castle Health clinics across the UK and Europe. We don’t currently provide in-person treatment in Belgium.

If you would prefer face-to-face care, you can contact us to discuss whether one of our outpatient locations is suitable for you to travel to. When you contact us, our team will explain all of the options available to you and will help you decide what type of treatment will work best for you.

While we don’t currently offer outpatient clinics in Belgium, we do offer in-person treatment at our clinics in the Netherlands. If travelling to one of our clinics isn’t practical for you, contact our team to find out more about our online therapy services.

Inpatient rehab options for people living in Belgium

Online treatment can be effective for many people, particularly those with strong social support, a stable living environment, and mild to moderate levels of dependence. However, it’s not the right fit for everyone.

If you require medically supervised detoxification, or if your needs are better suited to a residential setting, our clinical team can refer you to an appropriate residential addiction service. This may include Castle Craig in Scotland or Smarmore Castle in Ireland, both of which offer medically managed detox where necessary, daily therapy, psychiatric review, and 24-hour support.

If you’re seeking inpatient mental health treatment as a standalone service, this isn’t something we currently offer. However, mental health support is integrated into addiction treatment at Castle Craig and Smarmore Castle, where psychiatric review and therapeutic care are part of the residential programme.

Travel to residential centres can be arranged with the support of our admissions team.

If you have international health insurance, contact your provider directly to find out whether your policy covers residential addiction treatment.

About Castle Health

The Castle Health Group has been treating addiction since 1983. Our team includes psychiatrists, psychotherapists, addiction counsellors, and recovery coaches. They will work with you to understand not just your substance use, but everything connected to it.

We take a holistic approach. That means we treat the whole person. We look at the psychological, social, and medical aspects of addiction, together with your personal history, to build a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs.

We have developed a full range of care, from initial assessment and online therapy through to residential treatment, aftercare, and long-term alumni support.

Our admissions team can talk you through the costs involved and whether your health insurance may cover part or all of your treatment.

FAQ

How Long Does Rehab Last?

Typical addiction treatment plans last from 30, 45, 60, or 90 days depending on the type of dependency. Depending on the type of programme you choose, you may spend more or less time in rehab.

During the inpatient programme, you stay in the recovery centre for the duration of your treatment, while outpatient programmes allow you to come to the centre only when you are scheduled for therapy and treatment. Inpatient programmes keep patients away from addictive habits allowing healing to take place in a substance-free environment.

Outpatient programmes are more suited for patients who need to take care of their career and home life.

What Is an Average Day Like in a Rehab Centre?

At our rehab centre, detox is the first step in your recovery process. This could last from one day to two weeks. After you have completed the detox process, you will be able to relax and recover by engaging in creative activities provided by our clinic. Depending on your treatment plan option, you may have a specific routine such as breakfast first, then mindfulness sessions, group or individual therapy, and outdoor activities. All Castle Health programmes will be fitted to the recovery needs of the patient while providing the necessary structure and stability for lasting change.
